Why We Archive

What to Expect has thousands of open discussions happening each day. We work hard to share our most timely and active conversations with you.

Archived discussions are usually a bit older and not as active as other community content.

We keep them up because there are a ton of great conversations here and we believe you deserve to see them all.

Screaming when removing bottle to burp

Hi all, my LO lately has been screaming everytime I remove the bottle from her mouth to burp her.  I usually take the bottle out of her mouth after 2 oz to burp her.  She has reflux so I tend to burp her often during a feeding.  But the last week or so, everytime I remove the bottle she gets angry.  She screams and screams, and even after she burps she continues to scream until I put the bottle back in her mouth.  Then she starts sucking away as if she's starving.  I've tried increasing her feedings but it's like no matter how much more I feed her, she still screams.  Also, she doesn't know when to stop and usually when she overeats, she'll get a tummy ache and start vomiting.  This has all started very recently, within the last week.  She has had reflux since she was a month old and we've been treating that pretty well with Zantac so far.  She also spits up quite a bit, but is a happy spitter.  When she's not eating, she's as happy as can be.  And she sleeps through the night too.  Any ideas on what is going on?  She also screams when she's very hungry (like after bath time) or when she's very tired.  I'm just wondering if it's her personality that is developing, or if I should be doing something differently at this point??
